Vinho Verde Weigela is a dwarf early-blooming deciduous shrub with a tidy rounded habit and dense lime green foliage with bold black margins. A heavy profusion of deep red-pink funnel-shaped flowers bloom from late spring into summer. Best flowering and color with full sun and rich, moist well-drained soils. Can tolerate some light shade. Vinho Verde's variegation on some leaves may occasionally revert- but to all black.
