Crimson Spire Oak is a deciduous tree known for its upright and narrow columnar growth habit.  Its dark green leaves have the classic oak leaf shape with rounded lobes that turn rusty red in fall.  Tolerates a wide varieties of soils and conditions, including urban pollution and compacted soil. Crimson Spire is powdery mildew resistant.

Syn with Quercus × bimundorum.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS:  Low Maintenance.  Chlorosis is common in alkaline or neutral soils.  Oaks are susceptible to a large number of diseases, including oak wilt, blight, root rot, anthracnose, oak leaf blister, cankers, leaf spots, and powdery mildew.  Potential insect pests include scale, oak skeletonizer, leaf miner, galls, oak lace bugs, borers, caterpillars and nut weevils.
