  • Description

Chinese Pistachio, also known as Pistacia chinensis, is a deciduous tree native to China. Here's everything you need to know about it:

  1. Appearance: Chinese Pistachio is a medium-sized tree that can reach a height of 30-60 feet (9-18 meters) with a spread of 25-35 feet (7-10 meters). It has a rounded crown and a dense, spreading canopy. The tree's bark is smooth and gray when young, but it becomes rough and fissured as it ages.

  2. Foliage: The foliage of Chinese Pistachio is one of its most attractive features. The leaves are pinnately compound, meaning they are divided into leaflets arranged on either side of a central stem. Each leaflet is lance-shaped and serrated, with a glossy green color during the growing season. In the fall, the leaves turn vibrant shades of orange, red, and yellow, creating a stunning display.

  3. Flowers: Chinese Pistachio produces small, inconspicuous flowers in the spring. The flowers are greenish-yellow and appear in clusters. While not particularly showy, they do attract bees and other pollinators.
