Gold Standard Hosta is a shade-loving herbaceous perennial primarily grown for its foliage.  The large broad basal leaves emerge chartreuse and brighten to golden yellow with irregular dark green margins.  The golden centers may shift to white at the end of the season.  Small bell-like pale lavender flowers raise up in terminals from the rootstalk above the mound in late spring into summer attracting butterflies and pollinators.  Best color in partial sun and moist well-drained soils.
