Digitalis purpurea 'Foxy' ~ Foxy Foxglove

Foxy Foxglove is a compact herbaceous perennial with a basal mound of medium green leaves.  The foxy group comes in various colors with the tall spire packed with tubular flowers with heavy maroon flecks inside rises above the foliage in spring and lasts well into summer.  Flowers best in part shade and rich, moist, well-drained acidic soils.  The leaves are highly toxic.  The Foxy group can flower in its first year.

The flower color of this selection is random among pastel shades of red, pink, creamy yellow, and white.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low maintenance.  Powdery mildew and rot can cause considerable damage if left unchecked.  Dense crowns may rot in poorly drained soils.  Watch for aphids, mealy bugs, slugs, and beetles.
