Georgia’s topsoil is a dense type of soil, but it is wonderful for giving native plants exactly the right balance of acidity and pH balance they need.
We offer top-quality Georgia topsoil. We do not carry topsoil brought in from other regions, only local GA soil. Topsoil usually makes up the top 12-18 inches of soil and contains more organic material than deeper depths of soil. As plants and animals decompose, the nutrients are added to the top layer of soil, making this a richer soil that is ideal for nourishing seeds and plants. In landscaping and garden areas, topsoil can become depleted if mulch, compost, fertilizer and organic material are not reintroduced.
